Heidi was a high level athlete in her youth and early 20s before establishing a career for 20+ years as a professional dancer/choreographer, performing on stages all over the globe. After having children, she retired from performing but never gave up the passion and love for movement. With her background in athletics and dance, she found a well-balanced variety of different exercises works best to help heal and prevent injuries while maintaining a healthy level of fitness, mobility and energy. This led her to focus her later career on health and fitness, enrolling in the Precision Nutrition Health and Fitness Coach Certification. In addition, she added to her group fitness training repertoire with other formats including PiYo (pilates/yoga conditioning), TurboKick (kickboxing/HIIT), LaBlast (dance fitness), Total Barre, and others. She enjoys spending time educating herself on new exercise and fitness theories as well as whole body wellness.
Heidi teaches Barre at the studio, which she says is one of her favorite classes because the nature of the exercises really get into those spaces that counteract a lot of poor posture habits and provide great mobility and strength for other exercises or just for general well-being. She also loves that it allows her to introduce some ballet technique to her class in a fun way while offering a taste of ballet even though some of her students may never take a ballet class!
