Our Yoga, Yoga for People Living with MS @ Studio B Yoga and More INC

Our Yoga, Yoga for People Living with MS @ Studio B Yoga and More INC | Chilliwack | British Columbia | Canada

This one hour class is designed for those with MS who are either independently mobile or who require the use of a wheelchair. The aim of the class is to improve core strength, balance and posture through both seated and standing poses. Participants may choose to do poses on a mat, seated on a chair or a combination of both. Gentle stretching, seated twists and moving joints through safe range of motion aim to keep the body limber and maintain functional abilities. A focus on expanding and calming breath encourages participants to maintain good body alignment as they move through the yoga poses. There is a guided full body relaxation at the end of each class.

Instructor: Mari Newell (Mari is an RN with experience working with people with MS)

Fee: The MS Society is pleased to partner with Mari Newell and Yoga B Studio to offer these sessions. There will be a small fee for participants to cover costs ($60 for 12 classes).

Kids Yoga is an introductory yoga class for children ages 5-8. Designed to be fun and playful. Daisy will guide your children through basic yoga, practice breathing techniques, crafts, games and introduced to meditation.

This program yoga is designed for tweens 9-12 who are interested in learning more about yoga and meditation. Over the 8 weeks, tweens will learn a basic yoga flow to take into their daily lives. We will practice breathing techniques, guided mediation, crafting and journaling and of course have fun!! 

Yoga has proven benefits from regular practice such as reduced stress and anxiety, flexibility and body awareness and improved concentration.

This deeply restorative class uses a combination of restorative yoga, breath work, energy healing & guided meditation to help balance and support your mind, nervous system, body, and spirit on your journey to conceiving and/or healing the womb.
The practice will follow the basic principles of yoga but combine them with specific postures designed to support the reproductive organs, and lower chakras which can deeply increase energetic and blood flow.
Classes focus on providing stress relief and relaxation in order to balance the body’s hormones and emotions in an effort to make the body and energetic field more receptive and open. It is also an opportunity to rejuvenate, nurture, give love to yourself and surrender to spirit.
This class will help to:Give you an understanding of the Energetic Chakra System
Move energy where you may feel stuck
Provide deep relaxation & rest

We are so happy to bring back the community class a few times a month! Join us at noon on select Saturdays’ for a free yoga class. Check the Mindbody Live Schedule and Facebook Events page for class dates.
 
The yoga teacher offering this class and often a second teacher supporting, have generously volunteered their time so that we are able to again have free class!
 
This class is not intended to only try once, you may attend as often as you wish and are not required to attend any other classes at Studio B if that is not in your budget. Offering this class to the community of Chilliwack is very special to us and we are so happy that yoga at Studio B is accessbile to everyone, please join us!
 
At Studio B Yoga we encourage a mindful and balanced lifestyle and believe yoga should be available to anyone. Gently flow through your practice while working on poses. This class accommodates a wide range of experience levels from beginner to students that have practiced for a long period of time. The class works on a balance between strength and flexibility while building endurance and improving your breathing and posture. You are welcome to join this free class every week or experience a variety of other classes Studio B Yoga has to offer.

We have all the mats and props you may need for the class and we ask that you arrive 10-15 minutes early to sign a waiver if it is your first class, and get settled. Girlvana began with the idea that every teen girl deserves a safe space to find her inner voice. These hour long classes incorporate yoga & discussion sessions as well as journaling and interactive activities for teen girls offering a chance for connection and engagement not only with themselves, but as well as others. Girlvana Yoga is a safe space for self-identified girls ages 14-18.

Now, more than ever, the world need you to be you. Find your truest self, embrace it and share it with the world.

Classes are Guided by Certified Girlvana instructor Erika.

Join Cindy and Sandra in a sound healing restorative yoga class. Move into gentle postures while experiencing the beautiful sounds created by Cindy and her many instruments. This special event will bring you to a place of stillness and calmness that only live music and yoga can offer. We are both very excited to be offering this special event to the Studio B community.

BIO
Cindy Babyn is a musician who studied at the Rotterdam Conservatory in Holland and who received her degree in music performance from the University of Toronto. Besides playing Western Classical Music, she also played on many festival stages across Canada in a world music ensemble with musicians from Afghanistan and India. Following her passion, she began to acquire crystal singing bowls, gongs, chimes, Hapi Drums, tuning forks, tanpura, and more. She plays live sound healing music for yoga classes, at massage therapy clinics, and for group sonic journeys. Look for her recordings on Itunes & Spotify under “Cindy Babyn”. This pilates workshop with Jolene Sharpe will break down the proper alignment for the upper body, neck and shoulders. Through proper breath technique and proper stabilization of the upper body we will cover how to treat head forward syndrome, headaches, mobilizing the shoulder from surgeries and how to stabilize the shoulder girdle. This will be an informative class that will help those with upper body ailments. Participants will be able to take home information that shows the muscles that are engaged in the exercises they will have learned.

These workshops are created to allow space to learn and are not a full pilates moment class. Please wear comfortable clothing that you can move in. This workshop will involve both discussion and class participation but will not be a full pilates practice.
